pirch ("pirch," "we," "us") helps you find jobs that fit you. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We keep it plain.
What we collect
Account info — your email address, used to sign you in and contact you about your account. You can sign in with email, Google, or Apple; if you use Google or Apple, we receive your email address (and name, if you share it) from them to create your account.
What you share about yourself — the text and files you add to build your profile (résumés, project lists, notes, a description of your voice, past cover letters). You choose what to share.
Your hunts — the job matches, match scores, and cover letters pirch generates for you, saved so you can revisit them.
Your feedback — the jobs you save, hide, thumbs-down, or leave a note on. pirch uses this to learn what you actually want, so your next hunts are better matched. It stays private to your account.
Payment info — if you buy hunt credits, payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details; we store only a record that a purchase occurred and the credits added.
Employer job submissions — if you post a job through pirch for business, we collect the job details plus your name and contact email, used to review the posting, show it to matched candidates, and contact you about it.
Basic usage data — standard technical logs needed to run and secure the service, plus privacy-friendly, cookieless page analytics we run ourselves (the page visited and the referring site). No third-party ad trackers.
How we use it
To understand who you are and match you to relevant, real, verified job listings — including learning from your feedback (saves, hides, thumbs) to personalize future matches.
To write tailored cover letters in your voice.
To keep your profile and past hunts available when you sign in.
To run background hunts (pirch pro) and email you when new matching jobs appear, if you turn notifications on.
To process purchases and provide support.
To keep pirch safe and lawful — screening submissions for misuse or an intent to harm others, per our terms.
To publish anonymized, aggregated job-market insights (for example, "X% of design listings this month were stale") and to improve pirch. Aggregate stats never include anything that could identify you.
Occasionally, to email you about pirch itself — new features or meaningful changes. Every email that isn't essential to your account includes an unsubscribe link.
Who we share it with (our processors)
We do not sell your personal information. We use a small set of trusted providers to run pirch:
Supabase — secure database, authentication, and hosting for your account and data.
Anthropic (Claude) — the AI that reads your profile (including any images you add, such as work samples) and job descriptions to match and write. Your profile text and the job details are sent to Anthropic to perform the match; it is not used to train models on your data under our agreement.
Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing for pirch pro.
Resend — sends transactional email (sign-in confirmations and, if you enable them, job-match notifications).
Job listing sources — we query public job APIs (such as Remotive, Jobicy, Himalayas, and Adzuna) using search terms derived from your profile. We send search queries, not your personal files, to these sources.
What pirch does not do
We never auto-apply to jobs or send anything on your behalf. You review and apply yourself.
We don't sell or rent your data.
Your choices and rights
Access & control — you can view and remove individual items from your profile and delete past hunts anytime in the app.
Delete your account — you can permanently delete your account and all associated data from within the app (Account → Delete account). This removes your profile, drops, hunts, and your login — and everything pirch learned from your activity (feedback, saves, hidden jobs) goes with it.
Send any privacy request through our support page.
Data retention & security
We keep your data while your account is active and delete it when you delete your account. Access is protected with per-user security rules so only you can read your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect it.
Children
pirch is for people 16 and older. It isn't directed at children.
Changes
If we update this policy, we'll change the date above and, for material changes, let you know.
